Edward Zebovitz, D.D.S.

Meet Edward Zebovitz, D.D.S., an accomplished oral surgeon by day, and generous humanitarian, dedicated husband, father, and international traveller. Making the most of his gifts and talents, Dr. Zebovitz is as comfortable practicing in his state-of-the-art office as he is in rural primitive facilities, serving the needy across the globe, and across the street.

Since 2006, Dr. Zebovitz has served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). Dr. Zebovitz’ thriving practice, established in 2000, is located in Bowie, Maryland. He is quick to share his success with his loyal, gentle and patient centered staff.

Dr. Zebovitz demonstrates expertise in the reconstruction of jaw and facial deformities, and the management of Temporomandibular (TM) Joint Disorders and Occlusion, or joint and bite issues of the jaw. Dr. Zebovitz specializes in treating the effects of jaw and facial deformities with regard to breathing, including Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). His mission is to achieve predictable and lasting results. To that end, Dr. Zebovitz incorporates current, proven diagnostic protocols and treatment modalities into his practice, and embraces innovations in the field.

Training & Education

Dr. Zebovitz’ training includes completion of a Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship in 1994, in conjunction with the Missouri Baptist Medical Center and St. Louis University. (Just three programs existed in the U.S. at the time.) There, Dr. Zebovitz flourished under the tutelage of Dr. Kenneth Rotskoff, M.D., D.D.S. A pioneer in the field, Dr. Rotskoff forged innovations in Microsurgical Temporomandibular Joint Surgery, and published several peer reviewed articles.

Dr. Zebovitz completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency in 1993. He participated in a combined program sponsored by the D.C. General, Washington D.C. Veteran and Howard University Hospitals. His undergraduate dental training was completed at the Howard University, College of Dentistry, after finishing his undergraduate education at University of Maryland.


Continued Studies & Achievements

Committed to pursuing continuing education, Dr. Zebovitz has completed extensive course work with national and international experts. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Pankey Institute, the Dawson Center of Dental Studies, and the Piper Institute. A sought-after speaker, Dr. Zebovitz lectures on the topics of contemporary and innovative surgical techniques and treatment protocols.

He is married to an extremely talented OB/GYN Coryse Brathwaite, MD, who is also on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Together they have 4 incredible and talented children. Two daughters, Gabrielle & Katherine and 2 sons, Justin & Jonathan

Dr. Zebovitz grew up in Frederick, Maryland. Aside from dentistry, he cites international travel, skiing, and spending time with family as his life’s passions.
